What the tale is about
In a peaceful wheat field, the Country Mouse visits the City Mouse’s home, where tempting food is surrounded by frightening cats and sudden danger. He returns to his simple nest, grateful to discover that safety and peace matter more than abundance. At the edge of a forest, an old miller and his son take their donkey to market during a difficult winter, changing their plan whenever passersby offer new advice. When they try to carry the donkey, it falls from a bridge into the river and disappears. Together, the stories celebrate gratitude, thoughtful choices, and the value of security over wealth.
